The rector of the Pedagogical University Mariscal Sucre, Sonia Alcócer, was suspended from duty last weekend, at the direction of the Ministry of Education, to submit original documents of professionalism within 72 hours.
The information was made official by the education minister, Roberto Aguilar, and the director of the Pedagogical University Mariscal Sucre, Otto Poppe.
Alcócer received a memorandum issued by the Teacher Training Department of the Ministry of Education, which indicates that is suspended from duty on charges of falsifying documents and material in their profession, and gave a deadline of 72 hours to present their original titles. Aguilar
he said in a press conference in the case showing their original titles shall immediately record in office, and if you did not put in place a process for its permanent removal and prosecution, if appropriate, even if it is suspended in its functions.
However, the Ministry of Education, through a note sent last weekend to lead Poppe, revealed the falsehood after an investigation.
The petition was filed by two former teachers of this institution that the Vice-Chancellor accused of faking her bachelors degree.
Education Minister said that the photocopy of bachelor's degree, allegedly granted by the Universidad Mayor de San Andrés (UMSA), in which Aguilar's signature as Secretary General of that institution, is false.
Aguilar said the font, the dates and other details do not correspond to the titles issued UMSA, reiterated that he never signed a title as Secretary General or as Rector with these characteristics or font.
He added that Alcócer have the time to travel to La Paz and submit to the Ministry of Education official document, but no degree in that time, generate a situation of suspicion that could be processed.
The spread of the fact the affected denied charges against him arguing that came from two teachers who were prosecuted for some irregularities that occurred within the Pedagogical University.
